Modern Slavery Statement – Financial Year 2024/2025

This statement is issued in accordance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps Zoe Care Ltd has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking do not occur within our business or supply chain.

 

Understanding Modern Slavery

Modern slavery includes slavery, servitude, human trafficking, and forced labour.

Zoe Care has a zero tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically, transparently, and with integrity, ensuring effective systems are in place to prevent any form of  exploitation our business and supply chain

 

Who We Are

Zoe Care provides domiciliary care services and also provide recruitment services to clients thereby working with local authorities, healthcare partners, and private individuals across England.

Zoe Care was registered in September 2014 and came under new ownership in January 2025. This statement reflects the policies and practices inherited for this financial year.

 

Our High Risk Areas

Our governance structure actively reviews and manages key risks to the business.

Recruitment

Risks are managed through:

  • Safe recruitment practices in line with sector standards.
  • Criminal record (DBS) checks.
  • Identity verification and right to work checks.
  • Supporting policies, procedures, and staff training.
 
Suppliers

Risks are mitigated by:

  • An approved provider process.
  • Clear contractual terms prohibiting modern slavery.
  • Working exclusively with trusted suppliers.

 

Our Policies

We follow strict internal policies to protect against modern slavery including:

  • Online checks to confirm no convictions for modern slavery related offences.
  • Incorporating anti-slavery obligations into supplier contracts.

Suppliers must confirm that:

  • They are actively working to eradicate modern slavery within their business.
  • They hold their own suppliers accountable for the same standards.
  • They pay their workforce at least the national minimum or national living wage, as applicable.
  • We may terminate contracts immediately if any evidence of modern slavery arises.

 

Training & Awareness

We provide regular training to our recruitment and procurement teams so they can recognise signs of modern slavery and know how to respond.

 

Measuring Effectiveness

We monitor effectiveness by ensuring no reports or concerns are raised by employees, the public, or law enforcement about modern slavery within Zoe Care or our supply chain.
